I don’t care if its Iraq,Iran,Syria, or a dozen other countries from Yemen to Libya. It’s all the same. If you are a foreign non-muslim power you better come to the table with lots of troops, lots of firepower and be ready to stay forever to achieve what Donald Trump would describe as a win.

I doubt we have that sort of resolve.

In that case we should let the few legitimate players in the region to get the job done. Only makes common sense.
...
Astute points. I know the elephant in the room is our own oil independence. The only thing keeping us from it over last 50 yrs is our government reps selling us out...plain and simple. We need no oil from anyone, In fact, we need like 10 more refineries...without $ to build madrasses, there are minimal problems from M.E.,...but the same government reps need $ from players in the MIC...military industrial complex, and the Carlyle Group, Booze-Allen, etc. Keeps the war, CIA engine greased... We both know both Bushes are to blame for much of this, and the Clintons and Obamas...not to mention all the $$$ they and their buds made off the drug imports at the nation’s expense. Treasonous bunch should be hanging from trees...

Exactly Rich you are referring to the cabal without calling it that. Which is what goes on in the mid east and has for decades. It's all about control, stealing assets, gold, wealth of any sort and maintaining control.Whether its Iraq,Iran,Syria,Libya, Egypt, you name the country vested interests all want control and are readily to reap the profits at a moments notice just like they did in Libya.
...............
I'll give you a little aside that I read about earlier this week.A similar story that suggests what actually goes on in much of the third world.
In Haiti a few years ago it was determined by those in the know that Haiti was probably sitting on huge oil reserves.
There are well placed rumors that tactical nukes can be used to dislodge certain areas where there is gas to get to the crude oil.
Rumors are the Haitian earthquake could have been a scalar weapon

used to discover crude oil.

Seems in less than ten days after the Haitian earthquake huge oil reserves, bigger than Venezuela, were discovered, who knew?

No, but we do have "lots of firepower". We should cut our losses and promise to answer any unwarranted attacks with limited surgical strikes, and with the appropriate "medium-yield" munition.

(like nuclear bunker busters and "tac-nukes")

No troops, only elite, for intel and training.

the elephant in the room is our own oil independence....We need no oil from anyone...

Another issue that gets my hackles up. We now can export crude oil...a big mistake unless it is merely an exchange for a more desirable crude.

In fact, we need like 10 more refineries...

Agreed, we should be selling only finished product.
