And the Money Tree Blo$$oms!
And my bias against Starbucks is conscious. For reasons just as this.
Unknowningly racist? Um, okay. These people really are fidiots.
It’d be a lot cheaper to just tell all the stores to only arrest white men.
They’ll be unconscious?!!!
Uhhhhhh, Kevin, I'm not going to go into details, because why should I?, but your statement, for mysterious reasons, completely triggers me. I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it. You probably have no idea why your statement is hateful, racist, sexist and also wildly homophobic. But, Buddy, the bottom line is that you owe me a lot of money. Because I said so.
My Starbucks bias is their coffee isn’t “premium” for the premium price. That and 80% of the menu isn’t even coffee anymore.
When in town I prefer “Seattle’s Best”, more of a working class coffee. Less hipster BS as well.
This training will only be given to whites, right?
If a great number of their stores fill with blacks who buy nothing, wouldn’t that be the karma leadership at Starbucks desires?
It is going to be fun when “homeless” discover they can camp out in a Starbucks and not be forced to leave for not buying anything.
If arrested just yell discrimination (it works if you are white or black, or green for all that matters).
No more time limits on how long you can hang out.
The left really messed up civilized society when they got “vagrancy” removed as a crime. There was a reason there were laws such as this. San Francisco is a prime example of a once beautiful city taken over by bums.
This myth was blown up some years ago.
Maybe the CEO could explain, how asking two non paying vagrants to leave is any kind of bias? Oh that’s right any black person can do any thing they want at anytime and ANY resistance or comment about it is automatically biased or racist because... well because they are black.
Who designs Unconscious Bias Training? How is it designed? Could it develop into bias against the trainer, who is assuredly patronizing and of low IQ? Who else would do it? Also, has anyone ever had any effect EVAH on changing anyone elses unconscious? If not, what would be the point of training?
Im designing this course in my head right now, and since I do have advanced degrees, I am a professional. First, the barista sits before a screen with a mouse in hand. Faces are shown of all sorts of people from everywhere, looking all kinds of different. The barista is to click on any photo of a person he wouldnt squeeze right next to on a couch, or kiss on the open mouth.
Next session, barista shows up and those very people he didnt want to cuddle will enter the training room. He will enjoy a refreshing beverage and speak to them. Thereafter he will be shown their photos and now perhaps he will not be so hasty to not wish to press next to them.
Next session, he will be forced to share an overstuffed chair with each of the people he clearly still harbors UNCONSCIOUS bias against. After which he is again shown their photos.
Next session will be light petting and clothed mouth kissing.
Etc.
Mission accomplished. Clearly by now all baristas are willing to accept anything from anyone. Unconscious bias is just unacceptable.
Understandable that the employees were overcautious, since a pair of robbers casing the store and waiting until potential witnesses leave before striking is not an improbable scenario.
Off to the reeducation camps! This will soon be followed by the liberal's killing fields.
What’s the point? It’s not going to improve the taste of their coffee.
I guess the Philly store manager’s white privilege didn’t get him much except his walking papers. Meanwhile, black privilege got those two “business men” national hero status among anyone with a lunatic left agenda. I’d like to see a video of the whole incident. I would bet my mortgage that we haven’t been told something.
Desired result:
“Do you see those two guys who’ve been sitting at that table for the last 2 hours and haven’t ordered anything?”
“Are they black?”
“Yes”.
“Nope”.
Stories like this are why social media is SOOO destructive.
A 30-second clip doesn’t show anything, except the two two black men being led away, and what sounds like someone commenting “they didn’t do anything” and that’s all the evidence we have.
In that sense, a 19th century newspaper article reporting such a case like this would be far more comprehensive, thorough, and logically written than this social media garbage, which is how many people today connect with their world, and who treat as “news” because its supplied by “technology.”
It’s not unconscious. Philadelphia is 43% black and has about 20 Starbucks locations. Detroit is 82% black and has only five locations.
It’s kind of fun to make accusations without any real big picture data isn’t it?
