Rep Lee Zeldin (R-NY) just announced he will be leading a Special Order on the House Floor Monday night at 7 PM EST detailing a case for a second Special Counsel to be appointed to investigate Obama’s FISA abuse.

Zeldin also wants to know how/why the Clinton probe ended and how/why the Trump-Russia investigation began.

At the time of publication, 5 Freedom Caucus members are confirmed speakers for Monday night’s Special Order on the House floor.

Rep. Lee Zeldin tweeted: Tonight, sometime in 7PM hour, I’ll be leading a Special Order on House Floor, joined by other Members, detailing case for a 2nd Special Counsel to be appointed re FISA Abuse, how/why Clinton probe ended & Trump-Russia probe began.

5 Freedom Caucus members will be joining Zeldin: Confirmed Speakers for tonight’s Special Order on House Floor detailing case for 2nd Special Counsel include @RepMarkMeadows @Jim_Jordan @RepMattGaetz @RepTenney & @replouiegohmert. Stay tuned for further updates & watch live sometime in 7PM hour

In late February, Rep Lee Zeldin (R-NY) sent a letter to AWOL Attorney General Jeff Sessions urging him appoint a Special Counsel to investigate FISA abuses and how/why Hillary’s probe ended and Trump’s Russia probe began.

The letter reads (partial transcript):

As you know, evidence has come to light that raises serious concerns about decisions and activities by leadership at the highest levels of the DOJ and FBI regarding how and why the Clinton probe ended and how and why the Trump Russia probe began. Additionally, important questions have been raised with regards to FISA warrants targeting U.S. citizen Carter Page. We write you to urge you today to appoint a Special Counsel to investigate these decisions and activities.

Initially 13 GOP Reps total signed Zeldin’s letter.

In late March, Rep Lee Zeldin announced House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and GOP House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy both signed his letter demanding a second special counsel.

AG Sessions appointed a special prosecutor named John Huber to investigate Obama’s FISA abuse.

We’ll see if this is just political theatre in advance of the mid-term elections. Lot of table pounding, letter writing to impress the folks back home and then... absolutely nothing.

This is a joke, right? What about raiding a lawyer’s office? How about being more comprehensive.

1) Why are GOP Lawmakers clamoring for permission to investigate a crime done by a PREVIOUS high-ranking government official (or lower-level current official)? That would be the job of the FBI.

2) If on the other hand, there is reasonable suspicion or probable cause of malfeasance by a CURRENT high government official, GOP Lawmakers don't need to clamor for permission to investigate with this silly "Special Counsel" nonsense. The Constitution gives Congress SOLE power to impeach (charge), try, and remove such current high-ranking government official.

Rosenstein, the acting AG, doesn’t want an investigation into the FISA warrant felony he committed. Therefore we won’t get one.

‘My name is Rod Rosenstein. I like threatening Congressmen, accepting bribes, authorizing illegal searches and seizures, and plotting to overthrow a sitting president. My friends and I can break any laws that we want because I run the DoJ, and it’s not like I’m going to prosecute myself.’

I see it that Trump could use a little noise on the Hill in his favor. The time is right as the Mid-Terms loom.

Not sure what go-along-to-get-along ever netted us, nor the ensuing silence that the RINO/UniParty was permitted to enjoy for 16 years, under Bush and Obama.

“Political theater” is the name of the game, however, our side seldom made role call, until the Freedom Caucus finally engaged.

Point being it ain’t gonna happen. If you have to sell it, nobody is buying. The body politic best serves itself with a Trump constantly wounded just enough to slow him down and make him expend much of his energy and capital in defending himself. They will not lighten his burden by giving him a counterbalance.

The complaint is that Sessions should be credited for appointing one more fox to guard the hen house.

Huber may turn out to be cute as a button, but the diminished trust in the NeverTrump contingency embedded inside the Justice Department does not really call for one more FBI guy to investigate other FBI guys.

The embeds are all still there, after all, and the Statute of Limitations clock is running, and Sessions dutifully defends the embeds and refuses multiple appeals for an outside independent prosecutor. Go figure.

30% of Trump’s first term has been has been blocked by one department. Jeff Sessions leads that damned pack. Rather cheerfully, he leads it.

I have no doubt that these five or six are not doing this for political theatre. They've been active on this from the get go.

Save your criticisms for all the rest of them. Start with Ryan, McCarthy and work your way down through all the RINOs. They're the ones who are allowing this to happen.
