Report: US seeking Arab force to replace its troops in Syria

White House reportedly aiming to bring regional Arab troops to Syria instead of US forces, preventing ISIS comeback and Iranian foothold.

The Trump administration is seeking to assemble an Arab force in Syria that would replace the US military presence there, US officials told The Wall Street Journal.

According to the officials, the administration has asked Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to contribute billions of dollars to help restore northern Syria, and wants Arab nations to send troops to the area.

In line with the plan, the officials said that new National Security Adviser John Bolton had recently called Egypt’s acting intelligence chief Abbas Kamel, to see if Egypt would play a role in the effort.

According to the report, the goal of the regional Arab force would be to work with local Kurdish and Arab forces that the US has been backing to ensure that ISIS does not make a comeback in northern Syria, and Iran does not consolidate control in areas previously held by ISIS.

On Sunday, the White House reiterated its desire pull US forces out of Syria as quickly as possible, and called on Arab countries to take greater responsibility in securing the region.

"The US mission has not changed - the president has been clear that he wants US forces to come home as quickly as possible," White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders, quoted by Reuters, said, responding to French President Emmanuel Macron’s claim that he had convinced Trump to keep US troops in Syria “for the long term.”

Knowing what the Bible tells us about how and what will happen as the war of Ezekiel 38-39 unfolds through God Almighty's hand, this may very well explain why the United States (possibly one of the "young lions") is along with Saudi Arabia (Sheba and Dedan) to fulfill its parts in prophecy by questioning the actions of Russia and its pan-Arab forces descending and surrounding Israel "like a cloud to cover the land."

The Arab coalition that President Trump looks to be creating likely will gladly join up or be forcefully assimilated into Russia's Arab forces, then causing the U.S. and Saudi Arabia to fulfill prophecy by saying "Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?" Ezekiel 38-13

WOW! It is comforting to see Bible prophecy being fulfilled, even in spite of terrible things that will happen. It certainly does look like Almighty God is using President Trump. Thank God for Donald Trump! We all need to keep praying for POTUS.

With outfits like “the Army of Islam” fighting Assad I don’t see how the US military fits into that picture.

The Bush post 9/11 policy has been to support the interests of Saudi Arabia in the region and in the end its evolved into a policy supporting the “Al Qaeda with new names” rebels in Libya and Syria.

Let the Saudis fight their own wars with no US involvement whatsoever.

Here’s a handy Matt Bracken / Travis Mcgee graphic you should ponder when considering events. As with everything, follow the money.

Let’s see...Magog (Scythians: descendants of and some in Ukraine, Southern European Russia and Crimea), Meshech, Tubal, Gomer (sons of Japeth: Iberians) and Persia, Cush and Put with them.

Nope. I don’t see Saudis in there.

That’s as bad. Syria gets to decide who helps Syria defend its land. It’s the Kurds we should be defending, against Turkey.

...to contribute billions of dollars to help restore northern Syria...

But no troops? Wonder who’s troops they will be buying.

Obama and McCain already created its “Arab force” - the Izlamik State. Now another one is to be created?

If you say Magog was the Scythians, then the Scythians were Indo-Europeans who were of proto-Irani, proto-Slavic, proto-Baltic and proto-Nordic stock

Most of them over the next 2000 years (from 1000 BC to 1000 AD) migrated to Western Europe and became ancestors of most of the English, Scottish, French, Irish, German, Spanish, Portuguese, etc. people as well as, in general of most Europeans

So, that would put the West as a whole as "Magog"

However, you are wrong, Magog was not the Scythians

“Let the Saudis fight their own wars with no US involvement whatsoever.”

It would be interesting to see the national makeup of the Saudi army. I doubt that very many of their combat units consist of a majority of Saudi citizens. Guessing it is pretty much a mercenary bunch.....

The end times Bible conspiracy authors have argued that Russia's origins trace back to the ancient nation of "Magog" described in Ezekiel 38-39, this is simply not true biblically or historically.

This myth originated in the mid 1800's is built on historical statements that were deliberately altered, and on the assumption that the similarity of certain words could mean something else in another language.

The Assyrian Royal Court records provide direct evidence and represent an incontestable primary source on this subject, since they were written during the time period in question by people who were directly involved.

The reliable, clear and detailed records of Assyrian Royal Court show they dealt directly with each of these nations about 100 years before Ezekiel wrote. These are the same records that are referred to in Ezra 4:15, 19 and 5:17-6:7. These passages tell how the Jews of the fifth century BC 538 BC–457 BC overcame opposition by the local Persian governor to the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem by referring to these same Assyrian cuneiform court records. They are also the same records Bible scholars now use to provide independent verification and edification of the Bible's historical accounts from about 805 BC to 530 BC.

The Assyrian Court records show dealings with Magog, Meshech, Tubal, and Togarmah (Ezekiel 38:3-6), the nations that stretched across ancient Asia Minor (modern Turkey) from west to east. From these records we also learn that the ancient nation of Gomer (Ezekiel 38:6), an enemy of the Assyrians invaded Asia Minor by coming down from an area around the northeast shore of the Black Sea. Archeologists know that the militant leader called "Gog" in Ezekiel 38/39 led a confederacy of these nations against invading Gomer.

Gog is a historical man who the Greeks called Gyges of Lydia. In Gyges of Lydia we have the leader the Assyrians called "Gugu, King of Ludu," and "Gugu of Magugu," who is referred to in the Bible as Gog of Magog. "Magog" simply means "the land of Gog."

In Akkadian ma means land, so in Akkadian Ma- gugu means "the land of Gugu," which becomes our Ma-gog. (Just as the Assyrian eponym for the land of the leader called Zamua is rendered as Ma-zamua).

Magog is an eponym for the ancient nation of Lydia that was in the westernmost part of Asia Minor.

-- the descendents of Lydia intermarried with Greeks, Persians, Romans, Slavs, Germanics etc. etc.

The Assyrians often referred to a new land by the name of the first leader they learned of from this land. -- this is why they called Israel (northern Israel) as the 'land of Omri'

The Assyrians dealt with Lydia through Meshech, who were subsequently defeated by Gomer, and thus the Assyrians finally came to deal with Lydia directly. In the prophecy of Ezekiel 38/39 Gog is being used as a "historical type" of the "antichrist" who is prophesied to come during the end times, and Magog is being used as a "historical type" of "the land of the antichrist."

It has been mistakenly believed that the ancient nation of "Magog" in western Asia Minor was the ancient "tribal name" of the "Scythians," a group of Iranian speaking nomadic tribes from Central Asia (north of Iran) that traveled across the Russian steppes, and came to live in the territory north of the Black Sea. Then, in turn, and again in error, it has been believed that the ancient Scythians were the progenitors of the modern Russians.

The Rus or Rossiyas is derived from the Rus, Varangian warriors adn quite different from the "rosh" of Hebrew which means "chief" -- yeah, it's a title not a real name

In his book The Antiquity of the Jews Josephus says that the Greeks called the "Magogites" the "Scythians" despite the fact that the Greeks did not call the Magogites the Scythians. In this same passage there are other errors in the identification of other ancient nations of Asia Minor. This passage shows that the author did not understand that Ashkenaz is the Hebrew word for the Scythians. (Interestingly, the Assyrian word for the Scythians, Ishkuza or Ashguza is similar to the Hebrew word for the Scythians – Ashkenaz.)

the oft quoted statement that has the ancient Roman historian Pliny in his work The Natural History that connects Magog with the Scythians is another forgery. Nineteenth century Scottish Reverend John Cumming is credited as being a leading promoter of the Bible interpretation that calls for Russia invading Israel. In his book The Destiny of Nations Cumming quotes a passage from Pliny's book about Magog which he purposefully altered.

Reverend Cumming on page 126 wrote: "Pliny says 'Hierapolis taken by the Scythians was afterwards called Magog.'"

Pliny on page 439 actually wrote: "Bambyx (a part of Lydia) the other name of which is Hierapolis, but by the Syrians called Magog."

The correct identification of Magog with Lydia and not Scythia is consistent with the ancient texts of the Assyrians, who at various times were either the allies or the foes of the Scythians, but had peaceful dealings with the Lydians, who they also referred to as "Magog."

Net net, Gog and Magog are examples of the ancient enemies, not to be taken as literal names. you can say they are Turkey, but if you mean the genes of the Lydians, then those genes flow in every Western nation today as well as among most Middle Easterners

You do realize that Putin recognized Jerusalem as the capital of israel ONE YEAR before the USA did?

And that Bibi and putin have close ties

Putin is not anti-Israel - he's not really anti-anything except what can stop him from looking good.

Which is exactly what the United States military has been turned into since 9/11 sadly with all the patriotic sugar coating to mislead us from the truth about their real mission in Iraq and other places like Libya and Syria?

Mercenaries for Saudi Arabia.

And when they behave like the Islamists, what will happen to U.S. public support for the idea?

It would only work under a U.S. command, like the former French Foreign Legion. U.S. command and control and foreign grunts.

“Support” alone will leave operational command decisions out of our hands, and the media will have a field day with every accident, every incident gone wrong, and every piece of shitty behavior by “our” foreign troops. The U.S. public will kill it quickly.

WWII set the pattern; either you control the ground or you don’t control what goes on.

The arabs from Saudi and other states will not fight against Israel right now. There appears to be an unannounced alliance between Israel and several arab countries against Iran. Israel is their only potential deterrence to Persian aggression aka Iran and the bomb.
