It’s just the City of Albuquerque, not the whole state.

I'll have to give it some thought. I loved Albuquerque when I was out there some years ago. The zoo, the food (red & green sauce with everything). Almost made it to the Atomic Bomb Museum in Santa Fe, but the kids were puking in the back of the car (rented, luckily) so we turned around. Loved the weather there too.

I've lived in New Mexico several times.

I lived on Kirtkland Air Force Base for a couple of years when my wife was stationed there and in Alamogordo near Holloman AFB in the south for four years when I we were stationed there. Also lived 6 months in Taos up north.

Overall, a nice and beautiful place to live, especially if you like the outdoors. Clean air and deep blue skies.

But if your are considering moving to someplace because of it's politics, New Mexico is a blue state voting-wise. But the recent governor was a Republican.

But politics is not all there is to life.
