This guy has got to be referring to the offspring of Liberal parents.
In our family our adult (30-ish) nieces and nephews hold positions as an RN, a Mechanic, an IT Guy, a City Manager, a Travel Guide, a Salon Owner, two Farmers (Dairy & Beef Cattle), a Pharmacist and a Dental Hygienist.
They’ll be just fine. :)
Your poster about the future and getting hands dirty is spot on. Fifty years, friends of my parent said “If you can fix things that break, you will never be without work.”
He was right.
In 1970, I graduated with a degree in electrical engineering and went to work in the aerospace industry. Three months into the job, I was laid off when the government cutout 100,000 jobs to spend the money on...wait for it...unemployment benefits!
I came home with my tail between my legs, to find that my beloved step-Grandfather, who started in a bank as a teller and retired at the age of 65 as the president of the bank, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, one year into his well-earned retirement.
The last time I saw him, he shook my hand, held on with both hands and said, If you cant work for $2 a day, work for a $1 a day!
Too many of todays snowflakes are looking for a position, after receiving university credentials in totally worthless studies. The only position that mindset earns is both feet and your head buried in the sand...as a bicycle rack!
