That was only an itty bitty piece of the law. It just needs to be made specific. That's the legislatures job.

I'm sure this article was written deliberately to stress "violent crime" rather than the actual crimes for which they were convicted.

They already have broken the law by being here illegally which is a crime in itself......any arrests, citations etc.etc. violent or otherwise only increases their criminal record.
