That’s pretty much what I told my doctor, when we had a conversation about the election of Trump. I said that I voted for Trump because I believed he was a man who could get done the things that needed to be done.
(But I also believed that his heart and sense were in line with our founding principles.)
“...his heart and sense were in line with our founding principles...”
That part actually came to me after I saw him in action. I was a Ted Cruz supporter initially, wasn’t sure how serious Trump was about it.
Always LIKED the guy, whenever I saw him on TV, but wasn’t sure his heart was in it.
Glad he won it though; I’m completely in his corner. He’s got the makings of being up there with Reagan.
She is turning into the the Democrat Harold Stassen. All right you kiddies, look him up.
If she had become President she would have been 100 per cent operated by the real movers and shakers of the Left, George Soros and the real Communists who are still there but now are respectable operatives and ex cabinet officers and CIA heads and the like.
I don't think that will be possible after then ext Census because of the tremendous outflow of liberals from the Lefty states to the more prosperous Conservative states. It will decrease the California representation but it will upset the balance in states like Texas and Florida. The Democrats now only have to win once. They thoughfelt they had gotten there this last time. When they do win one this country will suffer a major break between past and present in only a couple of years.
I don’t know that Trump is terribly educated in all the nuances of American political philosophy; but I believe that he is intuitively in line with them; and he knows from experience how the American ideals, at their best, work to give the most opportunity to the most people. (This isn’t a man who simply had capital to invest: he grew up understanding the carpenter, the bricklayer, the electrician.)
At their best, those American ideals and principles have created opportunity for humanity more effectively than any other political philosophy in world history has ever done; and I think that Trump understands this, and doesn’t slight it.
There may be some Democrat politicians who still understand these things; but I don’t know their names. All of the ones in the forefront seem to hate our founding principles, hate capitalism, and hate *US*, considering how they’ve been trying to squeeze us out of our own sovereign Nation and the principles upon which it was founded, particularly as they are expressed in the Bill of Rights.
Like you, I’m completely in Trump’s corner.
You’re not counting on the still *Good Sense* of the majority of Americans. That is something that outweighs and transcends ‘numbers’.
I was Cruz suporter and was made quite uncomfortable by Trumps’ apparent random zaniness. What flipped me and it was a sudden flip, was when Trump got nasty on Twitter to Cruz. I was disgusted until I heard Cruz’s reply. Then the Revelation. I suddenly realized that Trump is calculating and NOT randomly nasty and that he showed up Cruz as someone who could NOT handle the Democrats and would fold up when they did the Nixon thing on him and they surely would have just as they are doing to Trump just because they totally knew they had it in the bag and that after all they could dispose of all their imagined enemies once in office. Trump judged that about Cruz and provoked him to show it.
“It was a serious miscalculation on the part of people like Jonathan Chait at New York magazine (”Why Liberals Should Support a Trump Republican Nomination”)”
Bad example. Jonathan Chait is a standard-issue leftist flip-flopper. From that article:
“The third reason to prefer a Trump nomination: If he does win, a Trump presidency would probably wind up doing less harm to the country than a Marco Rubio or a Cruz presidency. It might even, possibly, do some good.” (February 5, 2016)
http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2016/02/why-liberals-should-support-a-trump-nomination.html
and how did that turn out for him?:
“This is the worst thing that has happened in my life.” (11:37 PM - 8 Nov 2016)
https://twitter.com/jonathanchait/status/796255417139691520/photo/1
and
“Never in my lifetime has the United States seen a period of darkness like the one that lies ahead of us. ... The Trump years will be a horror.” (November 9, 2016)
“...If she had become President...”
...there would have been civil war within a year.
Utter drivel
“..This isnt a man who simply had capital to invest: he grew up understanding the carpenter, the bricklayer, the electrician...”
I think one Freeper out here put it best: “He’s just like me, but with a Hell of a lot more money...”
“...There may be some Democrat politicians who still understand these things; but I dont know their names. ...”
I haven’t seen any. Maybe some Democrat voters, sure, but they have ZERO clue what they are voting for. Truly Low Information types. Sadly.
“...Trump is calculating and NOT randomly nasty and that he showed up Cruz as someone who could NOT handle the Democrats and would fold up when they did the Nixon thing on him ...”
Bingo, you are spot-on.
We needed a street fighter, not a politician.
We got a street fighter, and he’s taking shots from BOTH sides of the aisle.
Proving what all of us suspected for a long time... the Uniparty scum does indeed exist and work for their OWN interests, and against OURS.
Yep,he was good.
Don Ohlmeyer, head of NBC west coast, was old buddies with OJ.
Norm M. was merciless attacking OJ Simpson with joke during his trial.
Norm eventually got forced out of SNL because of this clash.
If the democrats were less corrupt, they would have let the winner of the primaries run against Trump. Bernie Sanders would have handily beaten DJT.
Bernie would have destroyed America.
Count out blessings that DJT arrived to drain the swamp. I pray he is successful. I have every expectation that we win big in the midterms.
just keep praying Hillary stays in the limelight and we are golden
One of the defining traits of the modern left is the necessity to dismiss contrary facts and data. Inconvenient truths are scorned or just not even on their radar. The 2016 election was a perfect example.
We dodged a bullet. Like it or not Hillary got more People to Vote for her than Voted for Trump.
The wisdom of our Founding Fathers is the only thing that saved us.
Will it last? We can only hope and pray that it will.
Once these Marxist Tyrants get back in power, all bets are off.
I wonder what he really thinks of her : )
He was spot on in his description of her.
FTA: “People hated Hillary Clinton so much that they voted for someone they hated more than Hillary Clinton in order to rub it in.” I really think that sums up our current moment. A lot of people, myself included, underestimated just how tired of Hillary everyone was. After a quarter-century of listening to that awful old criminal’s angry, scolding voice, America finally said enough was enough. We still can’t seem to get rid of her
Yep! Thats exactly why I voted for Trump.
