Awesome.

When I visited Panmunjom, there in the DMZ, I had to sign a waiver indicating that I understood that it was a dangerous place to visit. Inside the UN building, I crossed over to the North Korean side and took pictures of the border through the window. There was a different kind of gravel on each side of the cement strip on the border. Inside the UN building, microphones were lined up on a conference table along the border. I only saw North Koreans from a distance.

If the two Koreas can unite in peace, a visit like the one I took into the DMZ will no longer be possible. But I am sure that many people will still visit Panmunjom.

Kim Jong-un’s message in the guestbook: “From now starts the new history. Here at the start of the era and history of peace”

Agreed, given where everything was a few months ago this is a big deal. Hard to be optimistic, but a good sign.

It seems like some people on this site wont be happy until the whole place is a radioactive mess, while they beat their chests from behind their keyboards.

If these people can work out their mess without war, then fine by me. My grandfather spent some cold days there dodging Chinese bullets, and I would love for it not to have to happen again.

Has Kim Jong Psychopath,by chance, been read the Riot Act by the Butchers of Beijing? Has he been told by his only friends "the jig's up,Fat Boy...you get things straight with Trump or we'll take away all your toys"?

It seems possible. It's possible,IMO,that Beijing has decided "we can't take a chance with Trump...we've gotta defuse this".

I wonder who is going to nominate President Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize? Not that he needs the money.

That’s quite amazing.
I wonder if Trump should just meet him at the DMZ, since they say Fat Boy doesn’t have reliable transportation beyond his fancy train.

This would not have happened without Trump. South Korean prez Moon is a commie sympathizer and just as corrupt as Obama. Kim is scared of Trump so he’s playing nice.

Historic night in Korea. Right up there with the Berlin Wall coming down. Trump for the Nobel Peace prize, for actually doing something. Not just for “hope”.

It’s all show and BS. Kim is not sincere.

He will ask for too many concessions—in return for his “continued good behavior” which he is bound by UN resolution after resolution to do anyway.

Mark my word.

NK will go right back to their post-carrot sticks—probably within two to three months. We are simply in carrot phase right now. TCM -Tactical Carrot Mide.

The pageantry and pronouncements mirror all the optimism and theatrics we had already seen when Kim Dae Jung and Roh Mu Hyong (since dead by suicide) before Moon both visited Pyongyang, kowtowed and the US and SK lib media heralded it as the end of the war.

Context people! History people!

WOW!

Decades of Government, all talk no action, bureaucrats achieved nothing.

Private enterprise Trump made Korea happen. A doer vs talkers.

I cannot wait for Eric Trump to take the reigns next. By then Kim Jong Un may just be governor of California.

You may be right, but I am not feeling that right now.

I am getting a sense we are watching history in the making.

This is all because of President Trump.

It’s no longer business as usual as it had been for the last 50 years.

Again I may be wrong, but that’s the sense I am getting.

Oh there isn’t any doubt it is history. Agreed.

And we must take lessons from history.

So far we have seen all this pomp and show before.

Given that context I’m not necessarily impressed today.

This position I take is ••not•• an affront to Donald Trump.

It is an acceptance of the reality which is North Korea—studied and followed for many years.
