< facepalm > I should have looked at your page. You're a fellow Illinoisan. My apologies. There's so few of us left anymore I'm not prepared when I come across one.

The only thing Illinois has going for it is its tax exemption for retirement income. All my neighbors are moving to Florida as soon as they sell their property, which is becoming more difficult every day. Homes that sold for 750K ten years ago are now on the market for 250K with no takers.

I'm going to stick it out just to see what happens next.

My daughter lives in Texas, which is also good for retirees.
Just need to convince the First Sergeant that it’s a good move.

Coming off Lake Shore Drive last weekend, I saw a gas station selling Premium gas for 4 bucks plus in Chicago
Stations in DuPage, just yesterday pulled back from 3 bucks a gallon.

I expect 4 bucks a gallon regular in dupage by labor day.
