Wells Fargo Rejects Union Demand to Act Against Gun Dealers

Troubles for Wells Fargo & Company (WFC - Free Report) seems to have no end. This time they come from a teacher’s union — The American Federation of Teachers (“AFT”) — demanding the bank to restrain itself from providing finance to gun dealers and the National Rifle Association (“NRA”).

After the recent tragic incident at a high school that took lives of innocent students and educators, AFT’s President Randi Weingarten raised concerns over Wells Fargo’s connections with the gunmakers and NRA.

In a release issued on Apr 7, the union disclosed plans to discontinue the Wells Fargo mortgage program offering to members, if the bank fails to take an appropriate action. The union said, “We’re issuing Wells Fargo an ultimatum—they can have a mortgage market that includes America’s teachers, or they can continue to do business with the NRA and gun manufacturers. They can’t do both.”

The fascism and attacks on the Constitutional rights of law abiding citizens continue with another attempt to use a proxy to attack the gun industry by trying to tell banks who they can do business with. Good job Wells.

Teachers should be teaching about the US Constitution. Not working against it!

The American Federation of Teachers (“AFT”) — demanding the bank to restrain itself from providing finance to gun dealers and the National Rifle Association...

If the AFT believes it is constitutional to do this, then why can't a baker refuse to make a wedding cake for homos?

“...why can’t a baker refuse to make a wedding cake for homos?...”

The extreme hypocrisy of the radical anti-American left. Academia unions rank right up there with the MSM.

Given Wells Fargo’s past history of fraudulent loans and accounts, and its support for lefty causes, I see little here to get excited about. I hope both sides get screwed.

Another reason I’m glad I decided to depart the teaching profession decades ago. I was against teacher’s unions back then and still am. The unions support the Democrapt party and not the teachers themselves. Also, as a public employee, I could not see, in good conscience, to go on strike that would harm my students by closing the school.

Teachers unions were not created for the betterment of mankind, just for the teachers never to be fired, no matter what they do or what mindset they indoctrinate children.

Jimmy Carter is to blame for all of this by removal of the states right to educate the children within that state, under state-imposed guidelines, instead of federal guidelines.

We are seeing the ‘one-size-fits-all’ education mindset, and it stinks.

As I stated earlier on another thread, the answer is simple. Homosexual marriage and protection of homosexual rights is a time-honored part of our Constitutional heritage (based on a reading of the 14th Amendment, its authors never intended). The right to keep and bear arms is a misfortunate (and incorrect, in many great legal minds such as HRC) interpretation of an out-dated amendment that was only written to placate slave owners.

Seeing where the US ranks in world education stats. this punk thug from yet another useless union with no value, obviously is spending more time being a social buttercup than an advocate for students.

I think it could be argued that students/staff with TB at public schools pose a greater risk to teachers than firearms, but does the union weigh in on the TB issue...?
