I can’t get enough of this. The American public is watching the so called purveyors of truth self destruct right in front of our eyes on nationwide television.
Nothing is being said about how sick the average voter is off this charade.
The media will be shocked when doing their post mortem on the 2018 election. Exit polls will show the Russia/Porn star theatrics wrecked the Democrats. Polling doesn’t really show the true disgust of the American public over this.

My own theory regarding Rudy is that Trump was (understandably) afraid something on what they thought were the wire taps would have implied that he (Trump) knew about the payoff to the hooker...so they got out in front of it.
In the end, I think the result is kind of neat. Cohen is off the hook, since he used Trump’s money (hence, no ‘in-kind’ contribution). Trump is off the hook, since he used his own money (rather than campaign money). And no one really cares either way whether Trump knew or didn’t know about the hooker being paid off - and many of us question whether it really happened, as in is there any EVIDENCE that Trump did anything, other than the payoff.
...and to take it one step further: If the EXACT SAME CLAIM had been made regarding Obama (true or not true), there would have been no need for a payoff, since the media would not have run with it, unless there was HARD EVIDENCE that was going to come out anyway. In other words, a different set of rules apply to Republicans, hence a different set of responses.
Mueller realized Rudy is going to fight back so he put out the word that there were no wiretaps.
Mayor Rudy baited them and they bit. He reeled them in and flopped them on the rocks.
Time for the federal bureau of instigation to go away.
We don’t need a subversive arm of the government attacking us.
Can’t let anyone use the term “wire tap” can they.

Actually, I’d bet the original story was true. They realized it revealed illegality on the Mueller raiders’ part - oops - and are now trying to rewrite reality.

The original story was almost certainly true and wasn’t supposed to get out. Some reporters messed up and inadvertently exposed serious criminal wrongdoing. The tapping team and its managers immediately panicked and demanded NBC to “correct” the story to keep them out of jail.
I don’t think anyone really believes the retraction. DOJ and the FBI have lost all credibility.
