How times have changed...I spoke to my old Navy Buddy the other night, and he remarked that when he went home after being discharged back in the late seventies, he brought a .22 rifle and a 25 lb. practice bomb home with him on the plane in his luggage!
I was the ship’s assistant postal clerk. One of the sailors sent a big ass knife home in a package. Later he asked me why customs had seized it. Duh, was it declared on the custom’s form you filled out? Blank look in response.
