This is not “all the time” over there right now, there is a lot of unrest and open threats against Israel, especially with the official opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem over the weekend.
You’d be surprised how normal life goes on. I wasn’t here for the second intifada or the first, but I was here for the knife intifada, and it was mostly a big yawn, though the soldiers were seriously on edge, ready to rush at breakneck speed to any point where they saw a problem, guns at the ready at all times. But Arab traffic came and went like every day. Occasional random stops and searches was all, which is also every day.
