He’s waiting for the Inspector General’s Report. In the meantime Trump-land is becoming more and more energized for the midterms.
I guess we have to settle for an IG. I hope that the IG determines that Mueller is actually not investigating Russia but doing a fishing expedition into matters that do not concern him.With that finding, Sessions would not be recused from supervising Mueller. And then we might have an actual AG.
Mueller has a court date this Friday to produce his mandate from Rosenstein purporting to authorize, post hoc, Mueller’s exceeding his putative “Russia, Russia, Russia” mandate. The judge in that (Manafort) case could easily hold that Rosenstein didn’t have the authority to do that, and that the Sessions’ “Russia, Russia, Russia” recusal is irrelevant in that case.
