Thanks for the correction - got caught up in the moment and had a brain fart.
No problem. I’ve had those moments too.
But I am not playing your childish word games.
I don't comment on FR to appease people like you.
Whine all you want but it ain't going to happen.
If the Electoral College is to be done away with, that should only happen in conjunction with a full overhaul of the voting system to ensure that only legal living US citizens are able to vote, that they are limited to a single vote per person, and photo ID is mandatory. There must be constitutionally mandated regular and thorough maintenance of the voting roles. There must be mandatory stiff jail sentences for vote fraud of any sort. There must be a rock-solid non-hackable system of electronic voting, with paper backup.
There are probably a bunch of other measures that could be considered to ensure that the vote count truly reflects the will of the people, and not just that of the political parties or the media.
The DemocRats will never agree to these measures because they rely on fraud to get elected in many cases. These are the people who hypocritically insist that blacks are too stupid and/or lazy to get photo ID and yet they claim those who want photo ID are the racists.
In the absence of real reform, the Electoral College stands as a firewall against massive election manipulation and fraud. Whether or not this was the original intention of the Founders, it is fact nonetheless.
Every time these Rat party apparatchiks and their fellow travelers in the media make noises about “democracy”, all these much needed reforms should be thrown right back into their faces.
Thanks for the education.
You're the one playing word games with your "representative republic" antics and it's all too clear as to why you won't answer my question...it blows your word game clean out of the water!
The whine is yours.
This thread is a perfect example. Years ago there wouldn't have been so many people recognizing the Republic and correcting her.
Continue with your tantrum all you want but it ain't never going to happen.
C'ya filly.
This woman’s logic reminds me of the “pug dog” incident, in the old movie, “Life With Father”.
.
“Democracy” is never healthy!
Our constitution is a barrier against Democracy; that is what the founders risked their lives to give us.
The democraps have been working feverishly to destroy it ever since.
Anyone who calls the US a democracy should be publicly horse whipped.
.
Continue with your tantrum all you want but it ain't never going to happen.
I'm not throwing a tantrum, I'm exposing your ignorance.
C'ya filly.
HA HA! You think you've got jokes! NOT!
Which came first - the Constitution or representation?
Yeah, yeah...I know. You don't have to answer the question.
(but the idea/concept is still getting into your brain!)
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Come back soon.
Isn’t our country a Constitutional Democratic Republic?
The constitution sets the parameters of how our government runs, and limits how it encroaches on individual liberty. It recognizes that freedom and liberty are not gifts from government, but from God.
The democratic republic part comes in the form of electing representatives to represent us in running the country. We are not a mob rule nation. And we are not a deep state mob rule nation.
Government has very limited powers...but most government agencies and bureaucracies fail to understand their limits.
No.
The constitution sets the parameters of how our government runs...
True.
...and limits how it encroaches on individual liberty.
Ummmm...the Constitution says government is supposed to protect individual rights...period. Where do you get the idea that the government is allowed to encroach on them?
It recognizes that freedom and liberty are not gifts from government, but from God.
Where is that found in the Constitution?
Are you thinking, perhaps, of the Declaration of Independence?
The democratic republic part comes in the form of electing representatives to represent us in running the country.
Look, there are democratic elements (majority rule) in how some things are performed (Congress passing bills and elections for example), but there is nothing in the Constitution about majority rule by the populace on the whole.
Imagine if you will your 2nd Amendment rights being taken away by a majority vote of the populace. That's Democracy.
Is that what the Constitution does?
