GOP leadership is going to have to start moving further to the right if they want to get anything done.

he GOP leadership, including House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., and Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., were seen in intense discussions with the conservative lawmakers in the minutes before the vote. - Fox

Good, they need to recognize that there are many people in the Republican Party that want this illegal immigration problem resolved. Let’s try to give the Freedom Caucus more help in the primary elections.

The bill failed 198-213. House GOP leaders had been touting the bill as a fulfillment of their campaign promise to overhaul welfare programs.

What does overhaul of welfare programs have to do with a farm bill?
Accidental transparency?

Kakocracy in action...

HERITAGE And the worst part is that some Republicans are signing on to this petition.

Just a few days ago, 17 moderate Republicans from vulnerable congressional districts signed the petition that calls for votes on four different immigration policies, all containing amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants!

The four bills being petitioned are 1) the Hurd-Aguilar Bill, a so-called “bi-partisan compromise” on immigration, 2) the Dream Act, a liberal pillar of illegal immigration, 3) the Goodlatte Bill, a semi-conservative bill that still grants amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, and 4) any piece of legislation Speaker of the House Paul Ryan chooses to introduce.

The tally of Republican signatures on the petition is now up to 20, and they only need 5 more Republicans to sign on to get the full support of the Democrats.

Here is the list of the 20 Republicans that have signed the amnesty discharge petition along with their Heritage Action Scorecard score. Their score tells the whole story.

Florida Representative Carlos Curbelo (32%)

California Representative Jeff Denham (44%)

California Representative David Valado (38%)

Texas Representative Will Hurd (43%)

Florida Representative Mario Diaz-Balart (41%)

Utah Representative Mia Love (82%)

Florida Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (41%)

Pennsylvania Representative Charlie Dent (27%)

Michigan Representative Fred Upton (40%)

Washington Representative David Reichert (26%)

Colorado Representative Mike Coffman (64%)

New York Representative Chris Collins (44%)

New York Representative John Faso (33%)

Nevada Representative Mark Amodei (44%)

New York Representative Elise Stefanik (27%)

New Jersey Representative Leonard Lance (40%)

Pennsylvania Representative Ryan Costello (32%)

California Representative Stephen Knight (43%)

New York Representative John Katko (27%)

Michigan Representative Dave Trott (47%)

If this petition gets 25 Republican signatures, these Republicans will undermine the rest of the Republican party and give control of the immigration debate back to the liberal, amnesty-loving Democrats. And if that happens, nothing will stop them from granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants.

That is why Heritage Action is monitoring the situation closely and working with conservative allies in Congress to make sure this amnesty scheme doesn’t see one more Republican endorsement.
