” Obama’s excluding Israel from his list of “closest allies” is a major “tell”: without explicitly saying so, Obama is telling the world he does not consider Israel one of our closest allies.”
“Regardless of anything Barack Obama said, says, or may say in the future, the JCPOA’s purpose was never to reduce, let alone remove, the Iranian threat to “Israel and its neighbors” or to prevent the Persian state from building a nuclear weapon. The JCPOA’s purpose was to remove the sanctions that, remember, Obama opposed and threatened to veto even before the JCPOA, and to appease, enable, and empower Iran.
Obama’s tells prove it.”
Barack Obama: “Don’t call my bluff!”
Obama couldn’t win a hand at poker if you spotted him three aces.
Who cares about Obama?
95% of tells in poker only become apparent when the stakes have been raised and when the players are in a stress-duress phase.
We’ll consider the Authors is talking no limit poker, where one can shove everything in when it’s their turn to act.
In this type of poker game certain hands have no value, you toss them into the muck. No tells are useful at this point. Tells only become useful when everybody in the pot will eventually have to commit or submit.
The only time I remember where Obama was caught bluffing with the red line in Syria.
Obama was a very weak player. Almost afraid of his own shadow. Folding that ‘red line’ hand in Syria was the worst play I’ve ever seen.
Been watching a lot of Maverick lately....a GREAT show to watch if you are into playing cards.
Good article. But seriously dumb ‘tell’ analogy.
“Sometimes nothing can be a really cool hand.”
I would wear sunglasses and act weird or stilted at all times so no one could tell if I were bluffing or not.
