I'm assuming that he or his wife probably just paid it, so he could get back to campaigning without being annoyed by pesky "journalists asking him about it, and his wife back to her medical practice, without giving patients an excuse not to pay her for services rendered.
She also repeatedly failed the required law enforcement licensing test when she was Dallas sheriff. She said it’s just because she’s not a good test taker.

All TX mayors are nominally non-partisan by law, but many are very liberal Democrats in reality.
