Autonomous vehicles have relatively high resolution optical and radar sensors. They are supposed to be able to avoid obstacles in the road.
Major fail.
The task of driving was designed around human abilities.
You can’t easily substitute another component for the human.
It is easy to automate trains. Not so much with cars.
interesting to note the police car is white...didnt they have a fatality last year when a guy ploughed through a trailer that was white? seem to recall it was a case of the camera not ‘seeing’ the trailer and it looks like this is the same for the police car...
