The right is not absolute because removal must be for the offenses specified in the Constitution. If Congress could remove merely for political disagreement or act on evidence that was cooked up, it would be nullifying the restrictions.

That is incorrect. A pardon does not prevent impeachment and removal from office by Congress or at the ballot (or term limit).
Why would President Trump have to be pardoned for ANYTHING? The question is purely rhetorical, with no basis in anything but fantasy.
Now, Robert Mueller may very well be looking for a pardon eight or ten years from now.
And who shall grant it to him?
I think what that clause in Article II means is that if Congress were to impeach and convict a judge or a cabinet member or the vice-president then the President could not pardon that conviction and leave them in office.
