That's the issue. This woman is a nobody. She was hired because of a requirement in Chinese cinema where content must be certain amounts of CCP approved messages, anti-American themes and a content of Chinese actors. Hollywood is taken over by this. Now Tran isn't -actually- a chinese citizen. She's American. But her and her character don't belong. She doesn't belong on the posters and she's not a primary character. But they complied with CCP demands to make sales in China and double their ticket sales. Remember the Mission Impossible movies with that ridiculous Chinese chick who didn't even speak English ? Yeah, it's something they did to make the cut in China. And furthermore there are scenes in the Chinese versions (Like Transformers and Avengers) that actually change the storyline so that Chinese Government saves the world. Yes. That's Hollywood.

I think she is the erstwhile love interest for Finn in the movie.
Which reminds me. A Chinese acquittance told me the REAL reason why TLJ bombed in China was because the Chinese were kean on a romantic relationship between an Asian and an African Amerian onscreen. Even a budding one.
