A Newport woman now faces a murder charge after a drunk driving crash that killed a Florence man.
Emily Sherry, 23, is in the Campbell County Detention Center and will be arraigned Thursday.
According to reports, a breathalyzer revealed that Sherry's blood-alcohol level was 0.422, more than five times the legal limit, when she crashed into another vehicle on I-275 in Wilder last month. The driver of that other vehicle, Robert Randsell, 37, died at the scene.
Ransdell, of Florence, drew attention in 2014 when he ran for U.S. Senate as a write-in candidate. His slogan, "With Jews We Lose" generated national media attention. In 2015, he was arrested in Florence during a Martin Luther King Day event.
How the hell is this relevant to anything? It wasn't like her drunk ass knew who she was plowing into. Could have just as easily been a little kid.
I don’t approve of the type of activity this guy was involved in earlier in his life. He may still have been thinking those same thoughts. How unfortunate. I disagree with him.
He was innocently killed by a drunk driver, and this stupid ass paper couldn’t take a pass on denigrating him after his death.
What he did was not a capital offense, and this attempt to besmirch him after being killed is as disgusting as his prior actions were.
She was professionally drunk.

Most “normal” drinkers would be dead with that concentration.
Isn’t the news here supposed to be about an innocent man killed by a drunk driver? How could she even be alive with that blood alcohol?

The writer seems to imply that the woman should get off, and even rewarded, just because of who she killed.
You don’t get .08 with a glass of wine.
If you want to drink don’t bloody drive. What is so difficult about that concept?
I’m fine with execution for the woman - or any other drunk driver. Too bad it won’t happen.
0.422 is well into alcohol poisoning for a normal person and can result in death. You are talking .08, 0.422 is nearly a half a percent alcohol by volume in your blood.
If she quit alcohol she might lose a little of that pudge of her face and be rather pretty.
But then, she might start of on meth, and that would be even worse.
0.422, wow! That’s loaded. A young kid like that and still conscious.
