The Shiites have no animus toward jews— Iran absolutely has a huge existent Jewish Prussian population. It is the Sunni (saudis) that need to get their asses whipped along with the American businesses that suck off their oil. Did you know that Shiites tolerate Jews— Sunnis don’t!! Hamas is 100% Sunni. Not entirely. Post WWII the Jewish population dropped from 100-150,000 to around 8,000 today. That drop about 60% post Shah. Obviously things didn’t go well under the Mullahs. But yes, some Jews choose to live there, and Iran allows it. Which isn’t true of most of the Sunni countries.

Sadr’s announcement is a gambit. Trying to set a precedent for “Right of Return” for the Palestinians to Israel. Having a few Jews is Iraq is no big deal. The population will run them out again (or kill them eventually. But a return of “palestinians” to Israel means then end of Israel. That’s what he’s after. That’s what ALL MUSLIMS are after. Sunni. Shiite. Makes no difference.
