This is what the N.Koreans now see of the world they have not seen before. Of course this was to depict their leader in a favorable light for this historic summit. as do we our President. But in my opinion we had a lot to do with putting this together, music and other evidences so. They simply agreed to it. It's a worthy watch if you imagine yourself as a N.Korean. It really is a stunning video.

I think your theory is likely pretty close to the truth. What struck me most watching the summit was how Kim was always smiling, and how he permitted Trump to lead him around as if he were Trump’s son. If this were all a ruse, there would be no purpose in Kim constantly grinning like he did. I think it was genuine excitement over North Korea’s potential future if they give up the nukes.

He wasn’t faking that smile nor the slightly submissive expressions and body language when Trump was directing him from room to room. Something is going on there.

”The point of the threats was to induce change in the status quo.”

Exactly right. In the past, North Korea would play this game where whenever they wanted more food or financial aid they would rattle their sabre, always aware that in the unlikely event that the U.S. pushed back they could dial back their behavior and be safe. By sending three carrier strike groups, bombers, etc. Trump took that option away, leaving them with nothing but the choice to cooperate or die.

It’s amazing how well that works, and even more amazing that so many dems and liberal republicans fail to understand this simple dynamic.

I was trying to point out that the praise was only for a few hours. Their bosses told to knock it off.

like when The Grapes of Wrath came out and the Russians tried to use it as propaganda of how poor America was but their peasants were all amazed at even the "poor" owning cars and freely travailing across country and such, it went away...

I wish I lived in Pyongyang. Did you see the traffic? Their commute must be a breeze!

OMG - I don’t understand a word of Korean but I was howling. This is the most over-the-top communist propaganda “on steroids”. The freaking narrator was SCREAMING for the entire 42 minutes it seems! I was ROTFLMAO-ing as I scrolled through it!!

As an aside, the video POTUS showed Kim was a masterstroke because it played directly into the NK’s love for this sort of thing.

Bottom line - Kim is a pretty smart cookie. He’s young, and winding up on a rope or against the wall like Ceaucheskiu did in Romania is not appealing to him. In the internet age his regime’s days are numbered (especially with the Trump REAL sanctions). What to do? Declare vistory and join the other side. In a manner of speaking, of course, not literally.

The SK’s will give him a LOT of help - the LAST thing they want is for NK to collapse and 25 million NK’s to swarm South!!

If young Kim plays his hands right, I could even see him assuming some sort of ceremonial head-of-state role in a reunited Korea - but that would be decades off. That would be quite a coup. He’s been aping his grandfather ever since he was elevated by his father’s death - and his grandfather - bloody as we was - is highly regarded in both Koreas today.

We’ll see how this all plays out - it will take a long time to play out - but an economically recovering, friendly NK will be a history-book level WINNING entry - and possibly serve as a blueprint for some other’s to follow, if they so choose.

Even I had NO IDEA when I voted for POTUS Trump how good, and visionary, he would be. May God keep him helthy, safe - and at 1600 PA Avenue for another 6 1/1 years!!!

A police state like Singapore is not such a bad thing if its enforced by a pro-capitalist, anti-leftist government ... in fact its a far better option in terms of quality of life than being in a leftist “worker’s paradise” where you wuld not only lose you political rights, but also your right to enjoy the fruits of your labor ...

... I tell you all that the light of civilization is far more likely to be preserved in the Orient in future centuries than it is in Europe (America is still an open question) ... the cultural homogeneity of China, Japan and smaller states like Singapore has proved to be a resiliant anti-body to the cultural and economic Marxist brain-virus that currently infests the West ...

... before anyone misunderstands what I just wrote, YES I meant to write “China” because their culture survived two generations fo rule by the Marxists, and they are now a prosperous quasi-fascist capitalist state (the “Chinese Communist Party” name is just for continuity sake, something the Orientals are big on ....) ... China today is an exaple of a growing and functioning fascist capitalist state ... a far better option than the horrors and poverty that preceded it ....

It’s really basically law and order....with appropriate punishments if you break it. Here we have an Attorney fed system...not Justice nor punishment.

Heads Up....

Amazing news (bites) developments on N. Korea....

...N. Korea’s state media has been publicly reporting…the latest Trump-Kim summit as we now know, but this is showing how Kim is now making himself accountable to his domestic population as well....a seriously clear departure in terms of N. Korea’s defence policy.

...The north-south general-level military talks today were held at the Thongil House in the 'north side'…of Panmunjom… At the talks both sides sincerely discussed all the issues in defusing the military tension and 'practically removing the danger of a war' on the Korean Peninsula.

...North Korean Tv is making a big deal that their General Saluted Trump. Our Tv is making a big deal that Trump saluted theirs!

I listened to an author the other night who wrote a history on North Korea. He stated that Kim was the third son, the first two not suitable to take over but their constitution requires the leader be that family. One of the older sons was believed to be gay.

He believed that Kim is/was pretty much controlled by his generals.

That MAY have been true 6 years ago - but Kim has been busy cashiering/eliminating the senior ranks of the military and civilian advisors, no doubt as he consolidated power. He removed three of his “old guard” generals right before the recent summit.

I guarantee you that NONE of those 70-something generals could have ever hatched a strategy as BOLD as the one that he is now pursuing ...

I believe that is why he is now free to pursue this course, because he’s finally rid of those controlling him.

Yes it is very interesting. Having watched it about five times now as I want to view it from the NKoreans perspective, which obviously can hardly be imagined, however Seeing the outside world and all this film ‘exposed’ the people to is astounding. Further it shows Kim is willing to be accountable to the people to some extent.

I also noted Kim was smiling and not a classic put on when he was with Trump. There is a difference. There are many indicators from this summit that were genuine. I loved it when Trump showed him the car, and when Trump and the General both saluted each other and shook hands...the look on Kims face was a story in itself.

Kims father would have never done this nor many of the things Kim is doing now in his country. Its all very striking.

Well the first son Kims father thought wasn’t manly enough nor strong enough for leadership, but it’s only rumored he was actually gay. The second son screwed up and ultimately was poisoned. Kim was blamed for that but I believe quite possible it was otherwise in the rank and file of the leadership. His Uncle was eventually murdered and believed by many in N.Korea was suppose to take the Fathers place...so there’s been loads of division within their leadership.’’The family dynamics weren’t that great because Kim Un wasn’t the son of his wife but of his mistress.....etc.etc.

At any rate it was believed from the beginning Kim was controlled by the generals....and the oldsters who controlled the cash flow. In Kims just 6 yrs in office is understood there were several attempts by Kim to consolidate his leadership with those of his choosing.

Frankly I believe Trump cut out Kims middle men and demanded to speak with Kim directly himself......he complied and everything then went from there. Both Trump and Kim admitted they’d been talking for some time.....many believe that began in January and possibly before.

I found that the most interesting part. They just put a lie to a lifetime of propaganda the North Koreans had been exposed to.
