Russian Who Offered Clinton Dirt to Trump Campaign Outed Himself as Former FBI Informant
THE EPOCH TIMES ^ | 06/18/18 | Petr Svab

Posted on 06/18/2018 7:20:39 PM PDT by Revel

A Russian man that offered to sell damaging information on Hillary Clinton to the campaign of then-candidate Donald Trump revealed in earlier court documents that he had been a long-time FBI informant.

The man, Henry Greenberg, offered to sell the unspecified information for $2 million in late May, 2016, but the Trump campaign associate refused.

Greenberg, who also used the name Oknyansky, filed two dozen documents with a federal court in 2015, showing an FBI agent repeatedly brokered his entry into the United States on a special visa for people assisting law enforcement.

“I cooperated with the FBI for 17 years, often put my life in danger,” he said in an Aug. 18, 2015, court declaration under oath.

Nine months later, he came uninvited to a gallery opening in Florida organized by a public relations firm run by Michael Caputo, who was working for the Trump Campaign at the time. There, he approached Caputo’s business partner, Sergey Petrushin, and said he had information helpful to the Trump Campaign.

Petrushin told the Washington Post he called Caputo and handed the phone to Greenberg.

Caputo told the paper that Greenberg’s Russian accent didn’t raise his suspicion. At the time, talking to Russians wasn’t considered controversial yet and Caputo himself used to be an adviser to Boris Yeltsin, the first post-communist Russian president.

“Let me get somebody to vet it for you,” Caputo recalled saying to Greenberg.

He then connected Greenberg with Roger Stone, who lived in Florida.

I was just going to post this. Hannity had Michael Caputo on his show the last 10 minutes talking about this. Remember, Caputo said he was trying to clear revealing the name of the person with his lawyer who approached him.

So basically the FBI was attempting to sell dirt on Hillary to the Trump campaign as a way to induce the campaign to take an action that would have been legal but very embarrassing, and which would have been pinned on Trump personally, but the Trump campaign declined to take the bait and sent the FBI’s operative packing.

And to the MSM-Democrats, the story is that Trump colluded because their operative approached his campaign, not that Trump declined to take the FBI’s bait and engage in a dirty trick against Hillary.

And as far as the DOJ trying to entrap the leader of the opposition political party in an embarrassing incident, the MSM-Democrats don’t want to know nothing.

Its only Russian collusion if the fake news media has determined it constitutes Russian collusion.

Michael Caputo gave a radio interview this afternoon.

He details how the FBI used a compromised Russian national to entrap him and Roger Stone and then they tried to snare him in a perjury trap:

At the same time, they were trying to insert moles into the campaign and cultivate staffers as intelligence assets, to report back to the CIA/FBI spies (Halper and the like) on the FBI’s own fabricated ‘Russian collusion’ attempts. Basically turning the FBI-invented fairytales into ‘intelligence’ originating inside the campaign that they could use to justify additional spying, by laundering it through the campaign.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement that U.S. Attorney John Huber would continue to review decisions made by the DOJ and FBI, and would provide recommendations on whether further investigation is necessary or merit a special counsel.

“This is not the end of the process. United States Attorney “John Huber continues his work in cooperation with the Inspector General to review certain prosecutorial and investigative determinations made by the Department in 2016 and 2017,” Sessions said.

He has reviewed this report and, based on its findings and his own investigation, will provide recommendations as to whether any matter not currently under investigation should be opened, whether any matters currently under investigation require further resources, or whether any matters merit the appointment of Special Counsel,” he said.”

“Attorney General Jeff Sessions has also said U.S. Attorney John Huber is investigating claims of FBI and DOJ misconduct related to these actions, noting that Huber would be “conducting his work from outside the Washington D.C. area and “in cooperation” with Horowitz.”

Professor Turley is a very respected liberal law professor and longtime civil libertarian. Has been critical of both parties over the years.
-Turley says the use of John Huber gives the IG the prosecutor he needs to bring charges and seek indictments. (No need to go through RR which is critical)
-Huber is conducting a full-fledged criminal investigation into all the matters Republicans are calling for a special counsel to investigate.
-Huber has been investigating these possible crimes for five months (Now seven), since November 2017.
-By giving the IG a prosecutor they can now go after the deep state without looking like a political witch hunt. This is critical.
-Sessions informed Congress in his letter that all the matters recommended for investigation by Goodlatte, Gowdy, and Grassley are “fully within the scope of [Huber’s] existing mandate.” He also informed the chairmen that Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who is working with Huber, has a staff of 470 investigators, giving Huber access to enormous investigative firepower that far exceeds the staff of any special counsel. (Who needs a SC with that type of manpower?)
-The inspector general’s jurisdiction to conduct civil and criminal investigations includes “actions taken by former employees after they have left government service.” Then Huber can act on any of those matters.
-This is HUGE A Grand Jury can be empaneled anywhere, in any deep red state, away from D.C. (This is very important and why Trump needed to appoint as many Judges as possible)
-Huber and Horowitz can accomplish everything a SC can do.
-If Sessions feels that charges should have been made that weren’t, he can still appoint a SC to make that happen.
-Huber is a lawyer from deep red Utah, not the D.C. swamp.
-“If a special counsel were appointed, there would be a great deal of delay,” Turley stated, versus the team of Huber and Horowitz, who are already five months into this investigation. (It’s too late to even appoint a SC. Charges can be filed before midterms.)
-From /u/ClardicFug - Huber and Horowitz were both appointed to their positions by the Obama administration. This helps optics a lot. Pretty much decimates the “Trumped rigged the investigation” argument that’s sure to be made.
