We should consider that the border patrol doesn't catch everyone. So, what does this mean in terms of how many children are brought illegally into our country by strangers, not their parents? Tens of thousands?
I worry there is something very horrible afoot here. I worry the onslaught of media coverage about "separating families" is simply covering up the real reasons why tens of thousands of children are being brought here without their family.
I am relieved that legitimate parents can be confident their children are being looked after well, fed good food, sheltered comfortably, etc. And that the separation is temporary while they justice is in process for their illegally crossing our border.
Anyone else watching Fox and Friends this morning? Just like yesterday, they’re pounding this non-story relentlessly. I wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow work it into the weather report.

Forget that strangers nonsense. The parents are paying guides to take them across Mexico and to our border. The parents are paying formal and informal people smugglers. Maybe MS13 gang members do this too. The money is decent.

That's part of it. The other part of it is a complete red herring. There shouldn't be anything controversial about "separating children from their families" when people who commit any illegal act are detained. If you commit a theft and are incarcerated, you don't get to take your kids to jail with you. The same should apply if you break the country's laws by coming here illegally. The so-called controversy around this issue is just mass hysteria whipped up by the media about something that ought to be a non-issue.
