Reyna fires assistant who gave FBI information on DA (Waco)

McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna on Tuesday fired prosecutor Amanda Dillon, the last of Reyna’s remaining employees who provided information to the FBI during its investigation of Reyna.

Dillon, who worked as an assistant district attorney for almost eight years, confirmed that Reyna and First Assistant District Attorney Robert Moody called her into Reyna’s office Tuesday afternoon and fired her.

When she asked for grounds for the dismissal, Dillon said Reyna only responded, “It’s all documented.” Reyna then had Dillon escorted from the DA’s office by one of his investigators, she said. Reyna did not return the Tribune-Herald’s calls seeking comment.

Dillon said she will meet soon with civil attorneys to discuss a possible whistleblower lawsuit against Reyna. Former Reyna assistants Greg Davis and Michael Jarrett and longtime office manager Julissa Contreras met with an FBI agent in August 2014 to discuss what they alleged was Reyna’s penchant for giving favorable treatment to his friends and financial supporters. Davis described the result as a two-tiered justice system.

DA Reyna fires felony court chief

Excerpt:

Two weeks after voters denied McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna a third term in office, Reyna has fired one of his felony court chiefs.

...

A source who spoke to Robertson after he was fired said Reyna and Jarrett told him the official reason was for “insubordination and not following office policy.”

However, the source and other courthouse sources familiar with the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity said Reyna questioned Robertson’s loyalty after Robertson was seen talking to Barry Johnson in Robertson’s office in the days following Johnson’s 20-point victory over Reyna in the March 6 Republican primary.

This guy's a real piece of work

I suppose if the feds had something on him, it would be a good reason for him to do their bidding with the biker gangs.

Did the FBI kill Seth Rich?

Or cover so the killer would never be caught?

Did the FBI do anything about Renyas corruption? Or did they try to recruit him?

“Hope she sues and costs Waco even more money.”

Yes, hopefully the “newly renamed city of Bandido/Cossackville” will result from the civil and criminal financial penalties coming in from the hundreds of lawsuits that are or will be filed against the former City or Whacko, Texas! Texas has a $hit hole in it, and it’s currently called Whacko, but not for long!

“I suppose if the feds had something on him, it would be a good reason for him to do their bidding with the biker gangs.”

Biker gangs? Gosh, I have been told that they were mere social clubs meeting to discuss legislation and such. And I have also been confusingly told that they aren’t organized crime. But that everyone who wants to have a motorcycle club had better get permission form the lead sorority in the area, pay taxes, and let them approve of their clothing choices, OR there will be trouble.

But they aren’t a gang.

It’s a decent city. A bunch of violent scum wanting to fight over turf endangered the decent people out on a sunday. And now that the organized crime gangs met civilization’s just response, man how they whine.

They can dish it out, but they sure can’t take it.

I’ve been following this case and you’re right that these were warring gangs but what you’re missing is that the police likely killed several of the gang members and then covered it up by arresting EVERYONE present and THEN trying to figure out who they could pin the murders on.

And the case fell apart resulting in the FBI investigating the prosecution for wanton civil rights violations.

Frankly, after Reyna is out of office he’ll be lucky to avoid going to a Federal prison for his crimes.

Sorry, while I respect you as a fellow FReeper, I have no respect for law enforcement in Waco, TX. The rest of Texas; yes but not Waco.

There is a culture of corruption in the Waco area much like the culture of corruption within the democrat party IMHO. One need only look at the actions of this DA and the LEO leadership in the area during this event and of course when the FBI was there years before to burn down the compound. That kind of thing doesn't happen in a vacuum. It was kindled then forced to burn.

Did these club members endanger innocent Waco residents? Not from what I understand. It was confined to the parking lot of the Twin Peaks restaurant which was surrounded by LEO's. Frankly it was the dumbest and goofiest thing I've heard of. Some damn stupid bikers getting into a fight that escalated knowing they were surrounded like that. It goes against all common sense.

This is why I think there were embedded LEO's under cover who instigated this fight. Had they not been there or involved; it likely would have ended with a fist fight or not happened at all. We'll probably never know for sure but neither the police nor the bikers were completely innocent that day. Bikers are kinda like peacocks. They sometimes strut around with their chest all puffed out then show how badass their feathers are then go back to finding something interesting on the ground. It's almost like a dance one sees real birds in the wild do.

Come to think of it; LEO's sometimes do the exact same thing. Funny how bikers and LEO's are sometimes more alike than different. Kinda like cowboys and bikers. Two different sides of the same coin. Very different but also much alike in some ways like being macho and independent of society.

Yes, it's the home of Rape U. Send down your Baptist virgins. The athletes there will be glad to give them a real education. Play football? “Do you like white women? Because we have a lot of them at Baylor and they love football players”
