Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Thursday was charged with a series of crimes, including fraud, over alleged misuse of public funds.

Netanyahu, 59, was also charged with breach of trust in connection with the "Prepared Food Affair," the Jerusalem Post reported.

Netanyahu was accused of misusing about $100,000 of public funds for catering services at the prime minister's Jerusalem home while falsely stating there were no cooks on staff, the justice ministry stated.

Prosecutors alleged in the "Prepared Food Affair" that Netanyahu, along with then-deputy director-general Ezra Seidoff, claimed the prime minister's residence did not have a cook although one was working at the home. She allegedly ordered that the cook's employment be kept secret and "she was aware that ordering meals from the outside for the residence when it employed a cook was a violation of the rules," Haaretz reported.

Seidoff was also charged with "falsification by a public servant."

Sara Netanyahu acted "to circumvent the rules and conditions" governing the official residence "in order to fraudulently obtain state funding for various expenses for the accused and her family that were not supposed to be financed in this manner," the indictment said.

The indictment came after Netanyahu refused to pay for the outside meal charges despite a number of attempts to reach an agreement.

"The indictment came after Netanyahu refused to pay for the outside meal charges despite a number of attempts to reach an agreement."

This tells me there's another side to this story.

They tried to get him over offering cigars and liquor to visiting dignitaries.

Now they're going after her for ordering take-out when there is a cook on staff? Maybe she got bored with the chef's cooking and ordered an occasional pizza?

1. There is almost always another side to the story in any criminal prosecution, but ALWAYS when it comes to politics.

2. Whether she is guilty or not, this looks horrible for Bibi.

3. If she is found guilty, then his career is over.

Without knowing more, it seems to me that she should have settled this matter in some way, and it further seems to me that “the Prime Minister’s wife” was probably a bit arrogant in how she dealt with this. Again, I don’t know the facts, and I could be 100% wrong in my assessment of her and her actions...but for the vast majority of those in power in any country, it follows a pattern.

Bibi needs to impress upon his wife the urgent need to make this go away.

"she was aware that ordering meals from the outside for the residence when it employed a cook was a violation of the rules,"

Am I reading this right? They are actually going after her for violating some minor regulation that bared ordering takeout?!?

This might even put even the Democrats Russian Collusion sham investigation to shame. Who's the Prosecutor Bobwaite Muellervitz?

When you are in a position that keeps you under an enemy microscope 24/7/365, do you risk misbehavior of that sort? More likely a lie by her husband’s opposition, or a personal staff member who is an infiltrator setting her up.

For those who have never been there, Israeli wages are not very high and costs are very high.

Anyone who thinks a Israeli politician can fund a 100k dinner for World Leaders is dreaming.

Wow! You sound like the never-Trumpers. “His career is over, OVER, I tell ya!” “This is gonna stick to Trump this time!” “Trump will never be elected!”

It’s BS and you are not helping.
