So...where are all the Trumpers in these special elections and primaries?
1) Trump supports likely stayed home as each candidate had flaws. Bright, though a conservative, is a political hack with personal financial problems. He is the Harold Stassen of Upstate South Carolina. Timmons has obvious Rino problems.
2.) Upstate South Carolina, dominated by Greenville, is not as conservative as you might think. Abundant jobs are attracting out of state workers and slowly changing the demographics. That and the Reagan coalition voters are fading from the scene.
