The problem is that it will resolve very little because the commies will withdraw into the nooks and crannies of society.

And isn’t that the crux of the situation? The brightest of their lot hang back in the shadows and recruit the more pliable as fodder to send up to the line. A preferred approach would be to root out the source of infection and apply a surgical treatment.
