President Donald Trump says he met with Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy at the White House on Wednesday shortly before the announcement of the justice's retirement.
Trump says he discussed with Kennedy some potential replacements but declined to say which names were mentioned. The president says in the Oval Office that he will choose Kennedy's successor from a list of 25 names that have been under consideration.
The president says Kennedy was at the White House for about 30 minutes....

I hope that this was only a courtesy meeting and that any recommendation from Kennedy went straight to the round file.
Someone who applies the Constitution AS WRITTEN AND ORIGINALLY UNDERSTOOD AND INTENDED.

Trump already has his list. He made it in 2016.
Simply a courteous meeting - Trump has his list of conservative judges.
I like Willett, he seems to have originalist instincts. I’ve forgotten the others in strong contention with Gorsuch. Have to read up on them again.
Also, just as an aside, he’s brilliantly funny. I miss him on Twitter.
He was a “swing voter.” For example, he voted with the conservatives on the gun rights cases Heller and McDonald, voted with the liberals in gay rights cases like Lawrence, Romer, and Obergefell, and split his votes on abortion cases (voted with the liberals in Casey, voted with conservatives in Carhart).

We want a strong Constitutional person that will be there for many years.
He wouldn't be bad, but I doubt if Trump will put him on there.
I have no Idea, but Cruz is not on the list that Trump circulated earlier.
