That’s who he really is. Impulsive and shallow. The only reason he walked it back was due to the tone of alarm in the interviewer’s voice. Suddenly the light went on, but too late for those really paying attention. Unless you’re a stand up comic or satirist, you don’t even make jokes about Nuclear War.
