Federal attorneys are attacking attorney Michael Avenatti over nearly half a million dollars in unpaid federal taxes owed by his former law firm.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Los Angeles, in a federal court filing Tuesday, accused Avenatti of trying to scam the federal government out of a $452,000 tax payment that was due last month by his former law firm, Politico reports.
The bankrupt firm, Eagan Avenatti LLP, agreed to make the payment last month to the IRS to resolve a bankruptcy case, but the funds were not received, according to the filing.
"The debtor and its principle [sic] Michael Avenatti made misrepresentations to the United States that it’s [sic] claim would be fully paid," Assistant U.S. Attorney Najah Shariff wrote in the filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Santa Ana, California.
"The misconduct of the Debtor and its responsible office [sic] Michael Avenatti should not be condoned by this court," Shariff said...

Without a doubt, which makes it hilarious and illustrative that the media embraces him for the ONE reason, he hates Trump as much as they do.

How is it that Al Sharpton and this pimp/lawyer can walk freely among us while owing the the IRS hundreds of thousands in unpaid taxes when we tax drones would have our property taken and would be jailed? Whatever happened to “equal treatment under the law?”
Taxes are for conservatives to pay.
Does he have a real driver’s license?
Does he have insurance on the vehicles he drives?
Does he have a criminal background?
We already know he is a sleaseball.
The real question is:
HOW much of a sleaseball is he?
IF he promised to make this payment in a written settlement, is he also guilty of deliberately creating a fraudulent document?
As it happens, I am a bankruptcy attorney. What this guy did in terms of not paying his company’s taxes is pretty common among bankrupts. However, if you’re going to play the game he’s trying to play, you better not be doing this on the side.
I hope we see a little more of this drama.
