Great link showing just how dangerous the job is.
This is not related to the Thailand situation, other than it’s cave diving, but if you’re interested in deep/cave diving, it’s a fascinating story. I saw the documentary & it really “grabbed” me - tragic, strangely mystical in some ways. It’s the story of Dave Shaw & Bushman’s Hole.
I have done some caving & I’m moderately claustrophobic & have a fear of heights (encounter both situations in caves) - it was a real challenge for me mentally and I’m grateful I was able to overcome the fear & handle it - I’m a better person for dealing with those fears. I don’t swim due to severe ear issues starting at 2 & lasting through my teens & just never learned. I cannot fathom diving in a cave - just does not “compute” in my mind so the guys/gals that do it are something else and I have the greatest respect for them, in particular those like Shaw who try to help others & the Navy Seals.
