“Current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class – involving high meat intake, use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work air conditioning, and suburban housing are not sustainable.” – Maurice Strong, Secretary General of the U.N. Earth Summit, 1992.

The U.N. Agenda 21 adopted in 1992 and signed by 178 countries has morphed into Agenda 2030 adopted in 2015 with its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and 169 “specific targets.” As Alex Newman described it, it is a recipe for “global socialism and corporatism/fascism” foisted upon the world by the United Nations.

Anytime the un meets about anything is a sign of danger and corruption. Get us out of the un and tell them to get out of the U.S.

Sustainable Development: A euphemism for the poverty that results from central planning.

The U. N.’s biggest concern needs to be it’s own sustainability. To that end...

Ah, yes, the late not-so-great Maurice Strong, a globalist aristocrat whose view of "sustainability" did not include a comfortable life for the middle class. Sucks to be us.

I will gently point out, though, that the same people who were insisting on zero population growth and government licenses to have babies (as Strong did at one point and caught hell for it) are now insisting that the birth rate is so low we need to change our society by importing unassimilable laborers. You just can't please some people.

yeah, the left has already been there and said that 50 years ago:

“The Population Bomb is a best-selling book written by Stanford University Professor Paul R. Ehrlich and his wife, Anne Ehrlich (who was uncredited), in 1968. It warned of mass starvation of humans in the 1970s and 1980s due to overpopulation, as well as other major societal upheavals, and advocated immediate action to limit population growth.”

their doom and gloom has always been wrong, but they keep dragging out these old shibboleths to terrorize new generations of the ignorant ...

Might just be this POS Mac Mini I’m forced to use, but the formatting and font at this site make it painful to try reading the article.

Anyone else?

The Left thinks sustainable development can only be realized with zero growth.
We can do much better than that.
