In the 1970’s a Vietnam vet in a cop show was typically a sniper on a highrise rooftop with a scoped rifle.
That Vietnam Syndrome cr@p started to slack off after candidate Ronald Reagan delivered a speech in August 1980 that pledged to restore America’s military strength and also he referred to the Vietnam conflict as a noble cause and by so doing ennobled those who fought in it.
Reagan buried the 1970’s malaise with that speech. As a Vietnam vet I will be ever grateful.
I noticed that trend too.
