The heavy-lift rockets required to get them into place probably make them too expensive compared to other ways of doing sufficient damage.

But I’d bet there is capability to deliver a few to some specific high-value target. To repeat, might be more practical to accomplish the same damage in a more conventional way.

There are a lot of reasons to keep ‘rods of the gods’ secret, including international treaties on the militarization of space.
