Corker, his cohort Lamar! Alexander, and several of the representatives are an embarrassment to the state of Tennessee. They are the result of open primaries, where leftists can cross parties and soil the contest, and a lack of runoff when a candidate doesn’t get 50% or more of the votes in a primary.
But the bigwigs in the Tennessee Republican Party don’t see anything wrong with this, as they continue to produce unprincipled, weak candidates.
I hate open primaries. I wish there was a way to have them declared unconstitutional. Maybe under the freedom of assembly clause or something.
