A Verizon tech person I spoke to once said she does this. Then she uses the cash to buy gift cards of Amazon, Verizon, Walmart, etc., for shopping. Her private banking info was compromised once and with gift cards she believes risk is minimized.
That’s smart; while her address and email are out there (for ordering) her bank info isn’t. I’ve just heard too many stories of people having their ID stolen from routine transactions.
