SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Google wants to know where you go so badly that it records your movements even when you explicitly tell it not to.
An Associated Press investigation found that many Google services on Android devices and iPhones store your location data even if youve used privacy settings that say they will prevent it from doing so.
Computer-science researchers at Princeton confirmed these findings at the APs request.

I dunno. If the feds wanted to “put you” in a time & place that corresponded to a crime in order to put the squeeze on you, how difficult would it be for them to edit those time-date-positional records? We’re talking NSA here. My guess is that this would be child’s play for them.
Many google apps come pre-installed on android phones. They can’t be completely unistalled - only ‘disabled’.
Justification for me-—I refuse to have a cell phone & everybody taunts me about it.
Don’t have a car with ‘On Star’ either.
Technically, it only proves your phone wasn’t there. You could have given your phone to someone else to carry around while you were elsewhere.
It’s better to have it, than not have it, though.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is now selling the records of licensed drivers in the state. I wonder how long before the insurance companies begin asking for “movement records” from EZ-Pass so that they can further assess insurance risks. Then, of course, once those records get out, the state’s privacy statement is meaningless.
I used to work for Law Enforcement Relations (LER) for a major cell phone company. All this stuff is, really, is cell tower data.
This reminds me of the car chase I saw on video last week. The car was a fully factory tricked out Dodge challenger hitting speeds in excess of 200 mph. Even the helicopters couldn’t keep up. When he finally ran out of gas, the cops were something like 15 miles behind him. He ran into the field/woods a sufficient distance to escape a normal search. But he had ramped it up so they brought in a chopper with infrared sensors. Caught him pretty fast. If you make it worth their while, they will do what it takes to get you. More time and effort is spent hunting down the killer of a CEO than the killer of a street person.
IOW, if the NSA is so determined that they modify cell tower data at the internal databases of the cell company, they want you pretty darned bad, even if they know you didn’t do it. I wouldn’t worry about it. I don’t expect to be wanted that bad. :)

They implied they were going after radical Muslim terrorists -...
When in fact they were going after white middle class middle age traditional Americans. The sh*ts in ‘intelligence’ were targeting American citizens who were the ‘enemy’ of democrat white liberal elites.
All jerk offs in ‘intelligence’ who were part of this should be tried for treason.
