Nebraska carried out its first-ever lethal injection Tuesday, executing double murderer Carey
Dean Moore, said Scott Frakes, director of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services.

The execution, which involved a four-drug cocktail, began at 10:24 a.m. (11:24 a.m. ET),

"I am required to carry out the order of the court," Frakes said in a statement. "This agency
has done so with professionalism, respect for the process and with dignity for all involved."

We need to go back to public hangings in the courthouse square. Inexpensive, effective and it serves as an actual deterrent.

Or a firing squad, even quicker and less painful. Very strong message too.

Seems to me you can buy a lethal dose of fentynal on any street corner for a few bucks./s.. Wouldn’t that be quick and painless?

I would wager that they have enough heroin and or fentanyl in their evidence lockers to off this ass clown in less than five minutes.

I have had much the same thought. All the endless back and forth about drugs. It would be so much more sure and quick with just a shot to the head or using a guillotine, as well.

I’ve been put under for surgery before. I’ve heard that it brings you to the brink of death, without actually crossing that threshold. It was painless.

Why don’t they just use that drug and let you make the full trip? It would be the best possible way to die for any human being.

I’m sorry to say this, but if society’s sensibilities are too delicate for the blade, the rope, or the bullet (I agree Old Sparky is barbarism), then capital punishment is on its way out.

Lethal injection is a perversion of medical skills and runs afoul of several Federal and State laws about medications.

I would gladly hang or shoot a murderer. I would never start an IV for the purpose of killing them.

Carried out “...with dignity for all involved.”

Were the two murder victims treated with dignity?

No doubt, but then they’d run into one of modern US society’s most crippling diseases:

Tort lawyers - one of the reasons we can no longer have nice things.
