These people obviously don’t know that one of the things women hate most is a rest room where you can’t see feet under the door and don’t know if you’re in there alone or not.
Once upon a time, you might have been heard if the loony had been standing on the toilet seat and dragged you into a more open stall, but now, forget it. He doesn’t even have to stand on the toilet seat because you won’t know until you open the door. And then nobody’s going to hear you or see that anything weird is going on. Building these closed spaces is a serious mistake.
I think the problem is that they don’t care, not that they don’t know. The goal is not to keep girls (or boys) safe. The goal is to square the circle of having both sexes use the same bathroom without it’s being an absolute free-for-all.
