"Daily dialysis" usually means that the patient (and usually a caregiver) can administer an 8-hour connection to a smaller, slower-acting device. In this country, a home patient can usually get trained and be ready to do this in a few weeks. Normally, they send a test result on a monthly or weekly basis to a health care professional for monitoring of key indicators. There is also a monthly physical visit with the professional, again for monitoring purposes.

The standard alternative is the routine 4-hour treatment which is administered 3 times per week, in a clinic setting, using different, larger equipment. That would be more difficult to do in a smaller, home setting.

Either treatment series would require steady electricity for device power and refrigeration.

http://www.marfan.org/about/related-disorders

I have been looking into Marfan and there is no mention of dialysis, more like heart/skeletal problems. He may have needed constant medical treatment but now that I look most likely was not dialysis.

Yeah for sure Bernard, cave living probably precludes a long life for what he had even with CIA help.
