I’ve kinda watched the Putnam/DeSantis race from afar.
IIRC, Putnam had a fairly conservative voting record while he was in Congress. I, however, can’t speak for his policy directives while he was Ag Commissioner.
Yeah, I know Trump has endorsed DeSantis but if Putnam won tonight, would it be that bad either electorally or ideologically?
Putnam is likeable and wants to be liked. He's a Jeb Bush-type Republican. You'll never know for sure what his advisors will have him do in a high-profile controversy.
Putnam has been in politics for years at the state and federal level. Can you remember the last time he accomplished anything to prevent illegal immigration?
