The once-booming nation is now suffering from Soviet-style product shortages and a mass exodus of citizens fleeing for other South American countries.
This stack of 14,600,000 bolivars, or about $2.22 U.S., would buy this chicken at a mini-market in Catia, a low-income neighborhood of Caracas on Aug. 16.

Kinda reminds me of the 1930’s in Hitler’s Germany when they overprinted stamps with 10 times the posted value because it was cheaper than recalling all the stamps or printing new ones. 5 marks..50 marks. 10 marks...100 marks etc. BTW they had guess who’s picture on them? As a kid I collected stamps and I wish I had those now. $$$$$
