The NFL disallows mass showings of the Super Bowl because they and their TV networks’ Nielsen ratings and ad revenue are based on screens/households.

It remains a mystery as to why and how CNN is (likely) permitted to include captive airport audiences in its viewership numbers based, I’m sure, on some fatuous calculation of impressions, viewing time per hours, etc.

CNN actually PAYS the airports to carry their special programming.

Apparently CNN contracts with local airports and pays for the TV screens, installation and maintenance of equipment. And of course most major airports are located in Democrat strongholds.

I wouldn’t be surprised if local Dem politicians get a piece of the action.
