Student loans are the ONLY kind of debt you cannot escape through bankruptcy.

You are in error here. The following debts cannot be cleared by bankruptcy without consent of the judge.
Credit card debt
Medical bills (Studies show that about 62 percent of bankruptcies are linked to medical debt)
Overdue bills turned over to collection agencies
Personal loans (Student Loan Debt)
Utility bills
Business debts
Unpaid/overdue taxes.

As far as I know, all BKs require the consent of a judge, so your statement is meaningless. The point is student loans (and a few other debts) cannot be discharged in BK by a judge. All the debts you mentioned (except maybe taxes) are routinely discharged in Chapter 7 BKs.
