I doubt McCain was "brainwashed" but I am sure he demonstrated the Stockholm Syndrome, which ends up a similar effect. Related to PTSD, it amounts to identifying with your captors. McCain had no idea where his true loyalties lay, despite the unctuous praise from his lick spittles on the Left.
