Wow. I’ve read that for 35 years maybe. Haven’t in the last few years but how I loved it in its hay day. Nat Hentoff, a conservative James Wolcott before he became a quisling, Andrew Sarris, Eric Asimov, even the awful Michael Musto...I even remember Stanley Crouch’s jazz reviews and Jill Johnston - one of the first out lezbos. An enraging publication really but so engrossing and well-written.

Do you remember those ads that went somthing like “Saw you on the R train, our eyes met, I said hello and you laughed...”
Those things made me feel so sad but I always read all of them.
